Annual Health Screenings are coming up on Tuesday, November 10th. The State of Texas, through the Texas Department of State Health Services (DSHS), requires all public, private, and charter schools to conduct specific health screenings to ensure compliance with state requirements. Please note that these screenings are a separate state requirement from the Immunization Audit we recently communicated to families.

Click here for an overview of the screenings required at each grade level.

What to Expect & Day-Of Reminders

  • Attendance: Please make every effort to have your child at school on Tuesday, November 10th.

  • Glasses & Contacts: If your child uses corrective lenses, please ensure they wear or bring them to school.

  • Process: Screenings take approximately five minutes per student. A GCA staff member will be present during all screenings.

Option to Screen with Your Family Doctor

If you prefer to have your child’s screening completed by your pediatrician or family doctor instead of at school:

  1. Notify us: Send an email to medical@gcafrisco.org to notify us that your student will be screened by your physician before Thursday, November 5th.

  2. Submit records: Provide completed documentation from your doctor no later than January 1st. The documentation may be turned in to the receptionist at your student’s respective campus or emailed to medical@gcafrisco.org.

Thank you for your continued partnership and support as we work together to care for our students. We are grateful for our GCA families and the opportunity to serve your children each day!
