Register to run the Race! Family Ninja Challenge

October 21st 3:00 p.m.

We have officially kicked off registration for our upcoming Fall Ninja Family Challenge!

Now is the time to sign your student up to run the race! This year’s race will be a mud-run-esque obstacle course challenge. It will be close to 1 mile long and will have 6-8 large obstacles to conquer ending with a large blow-up obstacle course. We will be holding this race at the GCA property and we will be running through a trail back through the woods.

This challenge is all about conquering challenges together as a family so parents run free with a student and do not need to pay a fee.

$25/student running the race includes:

Ninja Challenge Race

-T-shirt

-Swag

-Snack

-FREE Parent Race Registration (parent t-shirts can be purchased for $10)

Women’s Bible Study

Starting August 30th

Are you looking for a way to connect with other GCA moms and also grow in your walk with the Lord? We would love to have you join us on Tuesday mornings at 8:00! We meet until 9:30 in the lobby of the church right beside the playground.

The workbook/study we will use is called Stand UP: Taking a Stand Based upon God’s Word, based on Romans, written by Mark Schupbach, a ministry of Lifemark. The style of the workbook is conducive to small amounts of daily intake or even just an hour or so if you happen to procrastinate! We will meet 3 or 4 weeks in a row and plan a social time to allow for deliberate fellowship (or scheduling of all of the appointments we try to squeeze in during their time at school!)

We will meet on Tuesday, August 30th and Sept. 6th at Warren Park to connect and get to know each other.

Upcoming Schedule:  8:00-9:30 a.m.

Tues. Aug. 30th Warren Park – group connect

Tues. Sept. 6th  Warren Park – group connect

Tues. Sept 13th – off – book distribution

Tues. Sept. 20th – Lesson 1

Here is further information about the study:

Do you struggle with discouragement in a world that seems to have lost its foundation? Do you desire to make a difference but aren’t sure what to say to combat the lies in our declining culture? Do you sometimes find yourself knowing what you believe but you’re unsure why you believe it?

Things that most of us never even considered in the past have become commonplace today — they are friction points in our everyday lives. The only way to counteract these falsehoods is to know the truth as found in God’s Word, the Bible.

This study will dive deep into the book of Romans, a letter written by the Apostle Paul to the believers in Rome. You will learn truths about a wide variety of topics that affect society even today, and you will be more confident as a result of knowing the truth so you can boldly and graciously Stand UP for God. Get started today.

The workbook is $25 and will cover the entire year. You can sign up by contacting Joelle Clink (567-232-2379) or Kathryn Magee (214-621-9376), or coming to the park on Tuesday. We will collect cash or you can make payment thru Venmo @Joelle-Clink or PayPal clinkjunk@gmail.com to cover the cost of the workbook.

The first actual Bible study will start on Tuesday, Sept. 20th. 8:00-9:30 a.m. in the lobby at the church.

Axis Resources

Want to connect deeper with your pre-teen or teenager? GCA has subscribed to AXIS. Check out their FREE resources HERE and be on the lookout for a login to access MORE of their great materials, discussion guides for parents/ teens, etc. Axis is a Christian company whose mission statement is “connecting parents, teens and Jesus in a disconnected world.”

One resource we can highly recommend is their free “culture translator” which sends you an email with info about the latest trends from a Christian perspective and things to be aware of as a parent.

This site has lots of great videos and resources. You can create a free account HERE, just click “login” and “create an account.”

It is important now more than ever to be engaged and a part of your pre-teen and teenager’s life and disciple them through the confusing culture and times we live in.
