See Something, Say Something

Sandy Hook Promise: See something, Say something. Anonymous Reporting System.

Sandy Hook Promise Anonymous Reporting System (Say Something ARS) is an anonymous tip line that allows students and community members to report threats of violence, self-harm, bullying, or other concerns. Available 24/7 via app, website, or phone, trained crisis counselors review tips and coordinate with schools or law enforcement when needed. The system helps prevent tragedies by encouraging early reporting and intervention.

When to stay home due to illness? Read our sick policy here

Email attendance@gcafrisco.org for student absences.

Parents, we try to spread love not germs, please keep your student home if they are showing signs of illness.  Students need to be:
  • fever free for 24 hours before returning to school
  • on antibiotics for at least 24 hours before returning to school
  • no upset stomachs for at least 24 hours before returning to school
If you do keep your student home, please email attendance@gcafrisco.org to let us know and we will let their teacher know.

Due Date for Work: Excused Absences Only

Students with excused absences of any length should turn in all work by the second class day back at school. Work that was due the first day that was missed is due immediately upon return to school. For example, if a student who attends class three days a week (M-T-Th) is absent Monday and returns to school Tuesday, the homework that was due on Monday is due the day they return: Tuesday. The homework due Tuesday is due Thursday.

In summary:

  • The work that was due the day that was missed is due the student’s first day back to school.
  • The work that was assigned while the student was absent (including in-class work) is due on the second day back, unless other arrangements are made with the teacher. Teachers may use their own discretion concerning make-up work due dates if there are special circumstances.

Axis Resources

Want to connect deeper with your pre-teen or teenager? GCA has subscribed to AXIS. Check out their FREE resources HERE and be on the lookout for a login to access MORE of their great materials, discussion guides for parents/ teens, etc. Axis is a Christian company whose mission statement is “connecting parents, teens and Jesus in a disconnected world.”

One resource we can highly recommend is their free “culture translator” which sends you an email with info about the latest trends from a Christian perspective and things to be aware of as a parent.

This site has lots of great videos and resources. You can create a free account HERE, just click “login” and “create an account.”

It is important now more than ever to be engaged and a part of your pre-teen and teenager’s life and disciple them through the confusing culture and times we live in.
