2026 Homecoming Week

Events and Spirit Days

Monday, October 26th:
Spirit Wear Dress-“Rhyme Without Reason”. Meant as a duo or group dress up. Two things that rhyme but don’t go together. ie. Santa & Fanta. Crown & Clown. Money, Bunny, Honey. Etc. Many ideas can be found on the internet. Dress should be appropriate and still fall within modesty guidelines.

Tuesday, October 27th:
Spirit Wear Dress-“Tropical Theme”. Hawaiian tourist, Hawaiian shirts, straw hats, flower leis. Etc. Absolutely no swimsuits or inappropriate dress.

Thursday, October 29th:
Spirit Wear Dress-“GCA School Spirit”. Red, white, blue colors. GCA spirit wear. Let’s show our school spirit!

GCA Pep Rally

GCA Pep Rally Information

Tuesday, October 27th, 2 – 3 PM
Eldorado Campus, 8000 Sanctuary Dr. Frisco 75033

We are excited to invite all students and families to join us for the GCA Homecoming Pep Rally on Tuesday, October 27, at the Eldorado Campus. This will be a wonderful opportunity to come together as a school community, celebrate our students, and show our GCA spirit!

Parents must pick up their child from the Rail District Campus at 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday, October 27, and transport them to the Eldorado Campus for the pep rally. Student drivers may drive themselves to the Eldorado Campus. Students may ride with other parents, but a permission slip must be filled out prior to the leave time. You can fill that form out HERE.

The pep rally will begin at 2:00 p.m. and conclude at 3:00 p.m. Following the pep rally, we will continue the fun featuring:

  • Middle School Girls Volleyball vs. Middle School Parents
  • High School Girls Volleyball vs. High School Parents

We highly encourage all students and parents to participate in this special GCA event. Pep rallies are a meaningful way to build school spirit, encourage one another, and continue growing together as a school community.

Parents who plan to attend should complete the form HERE. This will allow us to prepare check-in information in advance and help the event run smoothly for everyone. Please note that if you haven’t pre-checked in with our Raptor System, you will have to present an ID at the Eldorado Campus in order to check in.

Please read the following graphic for PSAT information and needed computer specifications for the upcoming PSATs at GCA.

Date: Monday, October 19th
Who: All students, grades 8th-11th*

*Students grades 8-11 will be dismissed after their PSAT testing concludes, which is around 10:30am. Students with accommodations may have a later dismissal time: 11 / 11:30am.

*Grades 6&7 will have normal 3:30pm dismissal.

GCA ATHLETICS: TALON TIMES

IMPORTANT INFORMATION

Please make sure you read carefully. Keep an eye on your GroupMe for any updates needed throughout the week. We also need more signups for our gate and line judges for football and volleyball. Please use the links below or the sign ups in GroupMe to sign up for your game. Each athlete is required to have at least one parent volunteer. You can also now use The Nest athletics calendar as an additional resource for game times and locations. Thank you and go Eagles!

Please be sure that you have your proper uniforms for games this week and arrive on time, fully dressed and ready to go!

  • Game Day MS/HS Volleyball Uniform: jersey, approved navy shorts, knee pads, volleyball shoes, hair up, no jewelry — wear your jersey to school with your school uniform skirt!
  • Game Day Football Uniform: jersey, approved navy shorts, cleats, and mouth guard (if wanted – recommended) — wear your jersey to school with your school uniform pants!

We would love to include your student in the Talon Times “Athlete of the Week” section! Please fill out this form to give us some fun facts about your athlete.

Please make sure to fill out the early release form if you are picking your athlete up at 2:30 PM on days they do not have practice.

Sandy Hook Promise Anonymous Reporting System (Say Something ARS) is an anonymous tip line that allows students to report threats of violence, self-harm, bullying, or other concerns. Available 24/7 via app, website, or phone, trained crisis counselors review tips and coordinate with schools or law enforcement when needed. The system helps prevent tragedies by encouraging early reporting and intervention.

Student Absence

Email attendance@gcafrisco.org for student absences & tardies by 8am.

Parents, we try to spread love not germs, please keep your student home if they are showing signs of illness.  Students need to be:
  • fever free for 24 hours before returning to school
  • on antibiotics for at least 24 hours before returning to school (dependent on illness).
  • no upset stomachs for at least 24 hours before returning to school
If you do keep your student home, please email attendance@gcafrisco.org to let us know and we will let their teacher know. 
 

Due Date for Work: Excused Absences Only

Students with excused absences of any length should turn in all work by the second class day back at school. Work that was due the first day that was missed is due immediately upon return to school. For example, if a student who attends class three days a week (M-T-Th) is absent Monday and returns to school Tuesday, the homework that was due on Monday is due the day they return: Tuesday. The homework due Tuesday is due Thursday.  (Extenuating circumstances may allow for other arrangements to be made. Please contact individual teacher.)
