Texas Freedom Accounts Info
Understanding Texas Education Freedom Accounts (TEFAs)
As many families have asked about recent changes in Texas education policy, we want to share helpful information about Texas Education Freedom Accounts (TEFAs). These accounts are designed to give families greater flexibility and support in choosing the educational setting that best fits their child.
The attached FAQ sheet provides a clear overview of what TEFAs are, who may be eligible, how funds can be used, and important upcoming dates. Our goal is simply to keep our school community informed as we plan ahead together and continue partnering with families in the education and formation of their children
When to stay home due to illness? Read our sick policy here
Email attendance@gcafrisco.org for student absences.
- fever free for 24 hours before returning to school
- on antibiotics for at least 24 hours before returning to school
- no upset stomachs for at least 24 hours before returning to school
Due Date for Work: Excused Absences Only
Students with excused absences of any length should turn in all work by the second class day back at school. Work that was due the first day that was missed is due immediately upon return to school. For example, if a student who attends class three days a week (M-T-Th) is absent Monday and returns to school Tuesday, the homework that was due on Monday is due the day they return: Tuesday. The homework due Tuesday is due Thursday.
In summary:
- The work that was due the day that was missed is due the student’s first day back to school.
- The work that was assigned while the student was absent (including in-class work) is due on the second day back, unless other arrangements are made with the teacher. Teachers may use their own discretion concerning make-up work due dates if there are special circumstances.
